 Spencer, Nebraska is a small midwestern town (pop. 541), located in northeastern Nebraska, near the Missouri and Niobrara Rivers.

Spencer has been dubbed the Sportsman's Paradise for many reasons. We offer excellent fishing in the local ponds and rivers. The hunting is unsurpassed, and the recreational water activities are absolutely fantastic. The town has many athletic functions and an excellent park system, complete with pool and camping facilities.

The Niobrara River is only 7 miles to the south and offers some of the best catfishing in the state. The Missouri River is a mere 25 miles to the north and offers a wide array of fishing opportunities. There you will find walleye, northern pike and many other species of game fish. We offer some of the best turkey hunting in the nation, in addition to excellent deer hunting areas. The turkey hunts attract people from all the nation to our area, and deer hunters come from all corners of the state to hunt the areas close to us.

The Missouri River is home to Lake Francis Case, site of many water sports. The area is a haven for water skiers. The mirror-like water conditions are unbelievable at times. The area is also used for swimming and tanning. Fishermen love the lake due to its size and wide array of different fish.

Spencer has a beautiful downtown area, with the quaintness of a small town combined with the convenience of excellent shopping. We offer a complete selection of stores, including but not limited to a grocery store, variety store, gas stations, auto parts store, cafes, convenience stores and specialty shops. There are also 5 different churches in town so you are free to attend the church of your choice.

For those interested in moving to the Spencer area, we offer an excellent school system and a wonderful library that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As you will find in most small communities, Spencer is a friendly place to live, For those of you who are just visiting the area or passing through, we welcome you to our town and hope you enjoy your stay.
